Could someone please explain to me what exactly is "dvi output" & what it would do for me?

Also I am told that a motherboard that I am picking up may need a "BIOS flash" What is that & how much is it gonna cost?

    thanx in advance

DVI-Digital Video Interface. Transmits Video Signal Digitally, lossless transmission, used for LCD's Monitors, oh and LCD-Liquid Crystal Display :)

BIOS flashes are done by small programs downloaded for free from the motherboard manufacturer. If you have not done one before, let us know the details about the motherboard and we can give guidance.

Though flashes are easy to do, they must be done in precisely the correct way, or the motherboard (or at least the BIOS chip) can get fried.

Who told you the board would need a bios flash and why? Most people can run their mainboard right out of the box forever without flashing. Is the board new or quite old?

BIOS flashing is a potentially dangerous procedure and is best left to the uber-geeks (like myself). :D
