    Hi all,

I've recently had to update from 98 to 98SE for a new piece of guitar hardware that relies on the updated USB functionality.

Unfortunately, (like Calvin in another thread here) I have started to experience time-outs while surfing and attempting to download larger files with my cable modem. Even switching from one thread to another here has dropouts that I need to refresh the screen to clear.

I reinstalled the original driver for my ethernet card to no avail.

I've read that 98SE includes something called ICS (internet connection sharing) - could this have something to do with my problem?

For about a day I had IE6 installed, but reverted back to IE5.5 SP1 soon after.

    I'm running 98SE on:

    P3-450, 384MB RAM

Are there timeout settings that I can set on my system to avoid this problem?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

    Cheers,

    Bonzai Gopher

Though the link says Windows ME, I'm assuming it's for Win98 as well.
