I have a Computer with the hard drive formatted, "s" switch and all,as of now, it`s got the CD ROM all ready to go in "D" drive and will boot up to a C prompt.
I also have my old original `95 B disk, and a `98 upgrade disk. My question is this.
Haven`t I read here, or somewhere, that I can run D:setup from the C prompt an install my `98 without having to install `95 as long as I have the `95 disk for proof of eligibility?
I hate to expose the fact that I`m that lazy.
    Thanks

    Moore,

During the install process of 98, you will be asked for proof of an earlier version of Windows. At that time, just pop in your 95 disk and let 98 do what it has to detect the version on the disk. Once detected, you will put the 98 disk back in and finish the install.

I`ve got that `98 installed after some SUWIN errors and some fine tuning of the Bios, it went in in fine shape. I notice in Control Panel Add/Remove properties, there is no "Uninstall Windows `98" entry. Is this because of the way I installed it without the full `95 installation, or did I miss something along the way, after the SUWIN errors? Once I got the Bios straightened out `98 installed without a glitch, everything seems normal. Just Curious.

You have no Uninstall Windows because you did a clean install, not an upgrade. It is the better way to do it.
If you were to go to Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information, and look into the right pane, the second line will say "Clean install using... "
