98 to XP P2P & router

    I have a router that acts as a gateway. I have a P2P network with XP, 98 and WinME. I cannot see the XP machine from the 98 PC or XP to 98. Haven't tried the ME PC yet....

    anyway, both PCs can access the Internet. the XP PC can ping the router but the 98 PC times out when I ping the router.

    I have user names on each that match...have released and renewed IP addresses....

    Any insight? thanks.:confused:

    To make sure I got your structure correct - PCs connecting to a hub or switch and a router connecting to it as well?

    If you have internet access on the 98 PC, there almost has to be a firewall issue that prevents pinging the router if you are pinging by IP address.
