Resolved 64 bit machine and XP 32 bit

I have a 64 bit machine that came with windows 7 and I needed to load XP on it to be able to load an original survellance camera software that requires windows XP. His original machine had XP and it crashed so I replaced it with a new machine what is 64 bit and loaded my linux based survellance system program on it and he did like it. So he wants me to keep the new machine that he bought and load his old system up. What can I do? thanks

 

Not 100% clear on what you want to do but a 32bit OS will work OK on a computer that is compatible with 64bit.
Perhaps you could list what you want on the old PC and what you require on the new PC, just to make it clearer.

 

just anwser this better yet. Can I run XP 32 bit on a 64 bit machine. Are the newer 64 bit machine backwards compatible?

oops sorry I overlook what you had said. I am thinking about just using oracle virtualbox or VMware player I already have ubuntu installed. Many thanks for all your help.
