    Hi All,

For some reason, my dialup speed has dropped from 56k (Actually 49k) to 31k!

I am in the process of trying to troubleshoot this problem, as I have just found out about the actual speed today.

But I had noticed that my download speeds had slowed down just a few days ago.

I live in the center of town, and I have always had top notch speed for dialup, compared to some people I know.

    Any ideas are welcome.

    Thanks

Unlikely to be a problem at your end - more likely a problem with the line to/from the telephone exchange. You could check with your ISP to see if they are aware of any problems at their end.

    Hi Pete,

I little while ago, I tried another access number and the speed was back up to 50k.

But for some reason, I lost my connection (This has been happening a little too often here of late) and had to retry.

The number was busy each time I called, so I thought it might be something that a reboot might help.

After rebooting, I managed to go online again at 50k.....I then disconnected from the ISP and dialed in the old number one more time, and my connection speed was back up to 50k again!

I'm thinking that the problem is on their end (ISP), so I'll monitor my speed more closely for a while.

    Thanks!
