I find many utilities to convert WAV files to MP3. My first thought was that would be great to reduce the size of the file. I am inserting clips of audio into my collection of Lyrics using Windows sound recorder a mike and me and my guitar. The Idea being when my great grandkids decide to sing Grandpa`s songs they`ll have an Idea of the words and melody. I intend to save these on a CD using Roxio CD creator 7. My question is will there be any problem saving to CD if I change from WAV to MP3? This is all my first venture into this poject. So far I haven`t had any problems inserting the clips into Wordpad where I`ve saved these lyrics. There`s probably an easier way but as a novice it works for me. :)

    As usual thanks

2 ways to do it w/ Roxio:

    1. burn a Data CD - burns the mp3 files onto the cd - can fit more music on one cdr.
    2. burn an Audio CD - during burning, Roxio converts the wavs into CDA format and audio cd can then be played in any cd palyer. Roxio can also burn an Audio CD from the mp3 files, but it will first convert the mp3 to wav and then to cda.

So, the advantage of converting your wavs to mp3 are:
    1. save disk space on hard drive
    2. can burn data cd that holds more songs than an audio cd.
    Disadvantages:
    1. mp3 is lesser quality sound (subject to listener opinion)
