A computer at the house has 4.7 on the system, and the owner of that machine wants 4.79 installed per the instructions of a bank or something, in order to get into the secure website for banking purposes or something.

Anyways, I've downloaded 4.79, and am waiting to install it. However:

    -Do I uninstall 4.7 first?
-If so, what do I save in order to preserve bookmarks and mail?
-What should I watch out for, be cautious with, or be mindful of?

Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is not required, though sometimes it is helpful to uninstall first.

Back up the user profile... I believe the default is:
    c:\program files\netscape\users

hmm.. perhaps Ramona will chime in here, as it's been quite some time since I have used Netscape 4.x.

    Hi Fenris,

I would suggest that you do a "Clean Install" of 4.79, which means to uninstall 4.7 first. By removing and then reinstalling the software, you replace all of its files, not just the newest ones.

I have "Clean" Install guidelines which will give you step by step instructions. If you have more questions, post back.
