Recently, I clicked on Windows 10 April update now. I have that installed but was at the time wondering why it wasn't showing the Fall update. Anyway, clicking on it started the download so I just exited out of there.
Yesterday, I went to do a Disk Cleanup and noticed 3 Gigs of Windows 10 update. I removed it of course but after having done so, I'm seeing there is no difference whatsoever as to Disk space.

First, wouldn't exiting out of the Download stop it? Secondly, not being on a very high speed Internet service, I still never noticed any difference as searching etc. But more importantly, why after moving the 3 gigs am I not seeing a difference in Disk space?

Did you reboot? After reboot, did you go back to the Windows Update Cleanup tool and check what is shown for Windows Update Cleanup?

Thanks for the reply Arie. I did indeed reboot and also looked at the Diskcleanup. Nothing in there any longer with regards to the Windows update / the file that was showing before. Have you heard of this before? I'm listening for your suggestions.

(I should add, that I did notice a lost of near four Gigs about several days back, so something definitely has taken that space)

In the Search box of Windows Explorer (upper right), type size:gigantic

You'll see all files >128MB in size. Use size:huge to find files between 16-128MB.

Biggest file is a PST file 628 MB. Is it that Windows has done one of those weird and wonderful things by showing something that wasn't there?

I can't say. I suggest you check with Disk Cleanup (Start > Run > cleanmgr.exe) and see what is shown. Use the Clean up system files option...
