The August update KB4343909 is stuck on all of my 5 computers at "Initializing..." stage.

4 computers are desktop & one is laptop. The laptop is Intel i7. One desktop is Intel i3, other 3 are AMD CPUs. In all cases, it's also stopping installation of all other August updates. They are stuck at "Pending Install".

I have already run Windows Troubleshooter, deleted C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download but no joy. Tried by downloading & installing the update from Microsoft directly but was greeted by message "This update is not applicable to your computer". Any ideas ?

Do you already have KB4340917 installed? If not totally remove KB4343909 and install that one first, then retry the latest update.

Also when attempting to download the update directly from Microsoft you must make sure that you do indeed are attempting to download the correct version. Please note on the link below that there are 8 different versions of the file offered and only ONE of those will be for your computer and since you are dealing with 5 different computers it is possible that they will not all receive the same version. You must check to be sure.

I managed to install the update manually on one of my desktops. On all other computers it's still "Initializing". Would try to update other computers manually too.

Interestingly I do not have KB4340917 installed on this comp, (main comp in Profile) yet I have KB4343909 which was installed on the 15/08/2018.;)
KB4340917 is installed on my HP Notebook (11/08/2018) and KB4343909 and KB4343902 installed on 16/08/2018.
This HP Notebook is Intel processor and is running W10 Home 64bit Version 1803 OS Build 17134.228.

Not all people have KB4340917 as somewhat noted by the info I found for people having problems installing KB434909 and then it is recommended. I personally do Not have it on my Windows 10 64bit v.j1803. OS Build 17134.228.But my install of KB434909 was completed without issue.

Each computer is different no matter how much "the same" they seem to be. KB434902 is an Adobe Flash update, some receive it and some do not. If you don't have or use Flash then you won't get it. You also won't get it via Windows Update if you manually update it yourself as many people do.

Also able to update my Laptop manually. That's 2 out of 5. I wonder what went wrong earlier when it refused to install manually too ! Maybe Windows Gods have become kind to me :)
