We have old hardware on our server, and have decided to upgrade to current hardware.

What is the easiest way to migrate 100% shares, users, AD, the whole 9-yards, to the new server which has different hardware?

    ADMT v3?
Image -> Restore -> Repair install?

Im really not sure the most foolproof way to go about this, and I can only attempt it on the weekends when we are not in production.

    Thanks!

If you have a full backup (which includes the system state) then you can actually migrate your existing server to different hardware. We do this for our disaster recovery plan. I never know what hardware I'll actually be restoring to. I've done IBM to Dell, IBM to Virtual Machine, IBM to different IBM.

Unfortunately, it takes a little practice to get it done right, so you may be out of luck there. Your other issue is that there can only be one SBS per domain, so you cannot DCPROMO a 2nd one and replicate everything over to the best of my knowledge.

This may be a good starting point for you....
