I have inherited someone's computer and I want to remove Outlook's auto-filling history so that when I type, say, mike, into the TO field, I get the Mike I want, not the Mike he used to email.

Thanks in advance for help sorting this out.

Boppy--Since it has been some time since you posted, here is a reference that might help. I do not run Outlook, so cannot offer personal experience.
(There is one potential problem with the following suggestions. It is not clear whether they work for Outlook 2002 or 2003. )

The answer to removing all exisiting AutoComplete address entries is the last sentence.

Thanks, WelshJim. I appreciate your response.
I was just coming back to report on another fix that I found. This one removes only the names you don't want:

    Remove Names from History List

    1. Create a new mail message.
    2. Start typing the name of the person you want to remove from the list (example Kay).
    * The list might popup saying Kay Moore, R. Kay Moore, Kay Verbeke.
    3. If you know which one of these is incorrect, use your arrow keys (NOT your mouse) to arrow down to the one you want to remove.
    4. Press the Delete key NOT the Back Space key.
    5. This will remove that name from the History List.

    Cheers,
    Jo

Boppy--Glad to hear your problem is solved. :)
P.S. I think you will find that is what is suggested in the third and fourth paragraphs of the link I posted. Nothing like a good Google Search!! :D
