I had my system running fine on windows XP for a couple of days then decided I would go back to my tried and true windows 2000 after my XP experience. Went to format and everything seemed to go fine, on bootup it gives a device driver error, but it is different everytime. I have encountered so far: ntdll.dll, usbhub.sys, serial.sys.

I tried to do a repair but it says that the disk is corrupted. I have tried two
different hard drives after running complete diagnostics on both of them. Ran memtest86 with no errors. Fresh installs of both windows XP and 2000 give the errors, but XP only gives ntdll.dll as an error, none of the other files. Any suggestions?

Puzzling problem. I'm moving this to hardware since there may be some helpful ideas from someone there.
