    Here's the situation:

    Windows 2000 Pro machine.
    (2) 3com Network Cards
    (1) Proprietary T1 line
    (1) Sprint ADSL line

Now on to the problem. We use a proprietary Stock Trading system that binds to the first IP available. That IP should be the static IP assigned to the T1 line. The T1 line has no internet connectivty.

The ADSL line was brought in for internet connectivity. It must be assigned to the second NIC for the Stock program to work. The ADSL line receives its IP via DHCP.

With this setup, the Stock program binds to the T1 line and works properly, however Internet Explorer looks for connectivity on the T1 line, which of course won't work.

The only way to get online is to disable the T1 line connection and bring up a web page, then reenable the T1 line to use the T1 line.

This must be done after every reboot....

Is there any way to specify which NIC/IP Internet Explorer should use?

After this is resolved, we need to do the same for a Win NT 4.0 box....

    Any help would be appreciated.

The ADSL NIC has a default gateway, right?

Don't set a default gateway for the T1 NIC and add a static route (using route add) to the subnet you wish to reach through that interface.

The ADSL line does have a gateway.....

Where do you add a static route?

also will this work for NT 4.0?

Just bring up a command window and use the command

    Route Add

and the information for your T1 system. There is pretty good help with the command if you put a /? switch at the end.

Make sure you are running the latest SP though. Otherwise this particular configuration may not work properly.
