I stupidly installed a second copy of XP Home on the same drive and partition. Is there a way to remove this or at least not have to pick between themwhen the machine boots up? Thanks...

You'll need to edit your boot.ini file to delete the second system. Then you can boot up and delete the Windows.0 folder or whatever the second system folder was named. Leave the original folder named Windows alone.

Normally when doing this you will not lose any personal files but it's still a good idea to have full backups.

There is a possibility of user account corruption. You MAY have to delete some user accounts that MAY have been created by the second install. I stress MAY because you will need to check for those and act accordingly.

If you are in doubt about editing the boot.ini file, copy its contents and post them here for more guidance. It is a read-only file so editing it requires that you change that attribute.
