    Hello Casie and welcome,

Bad news - the drive has failed. My only suggestion would be to get to the drive's MFG site and look around for utilities to access the drive possibly saving data or perhaps someone here knows of one. It would help to know the drive's brand. Or take it into a repair shop and see if data retrieval is possible.

Sounds like you didn't do backups of your user data. For reference on what to do http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=37206

    Regards - Charles
