    Hello
I have a Dell Dim. 3000 with windows xp as the operating system, I bought and install System Mechanical software to clean and tune up my pc. However after running the program apparently it messed up another program on my desktop that my wife uses to communicte with her deaf mother. The program is Sorenson Envision SL, now I'm getting the 1706 error and I downloaded the program years ago off the web and it is no longer supported. any suggestions to fix this

    My Opinion:

Get ride of the System Mechanical Software.
Software that says it will boost performance - dosen't.
Also Registry Cleaners can do more damage to your PC then what it leads you to believe.

Did you run the registry cleaner ?
If so - this may have caused the problem.
You may need to run the system restore point that the registry cleaner put on your PC before it cleaned it.

The best defense - Have a Virus program, Malware Program, Spyware Program and defrag the hard drive at least once a month.

The above is only my opinion.

You should create a restore point before installing software.

If you are referring to "System Mechanic" - a program, it is a very useful tool, IF USED PROPERLY. Anything you do can easily be reversed, including registry changes. Just be careful to do only those things you understand and do them one step at a time. By the way, I have no financial or otherwise interest...have simply found it helpful. You probably need a little more security than sp3851 suggests.
