ok so this is my first post and its a gnarly one. I need help with my computer. I am currently on a different one because I can not get anything to run on my other.

So, my computer will start up fine but I can not run any programs properly. I can not open the internet, through internet explorer or firefox. It takes 5 minutes to open anything, files, cmd, my computer, etc. I have noticed that my cpu usage is at 100% all of the time. There are only two processes running that are taking up all of my cpu usage. CCAPP.EXE and PISvc.exe. These processes are averaging 50% each.

I do not know what to do. I can't run any virus scans. I defragmented my c drive and nothing seems to be helping. If there is any more information needed to help with my problem please let me know.

    Thank you

Hi jmmiv27, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

CCAPP.EXE is a component of Norton. If you don't want Norton installed then I would suggest that you uninstall it. Click Start< Control Panel< Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all the Norton products. After the removal of Norton is completed remove any programs that you don't use. After thats done reboot the computer.

Once the computer has been rebooted, follow Whiskeyman's advice and post a new thread in the Malware and Virus Removal Forum which will make sure your computer is clean.

It is pifsvc.exe. I can not disable them in the task manager. Whenever I try it gives me a notice saying I don't have access. I am working on just removing nortoin from my computer but it has been taking 20-30 minutes to open control panel and then another while to open the add/remove program. Is there any way to remove it without going through control panel?

You could try Autoruns from Sysinternals (part of Microsoft now).
Uncheck what you don't want to autorun, including services and/or drivers, scheduled jobs, etc. and reboot.
If something resident that you can't kill first, resets what you do, boot up from some Windows on CD (e.g. MiniPE) and repeat the same. Scan your disk for trojans while you're there.
