1 long beep after starting laptop (black screen)

    HI! GUYS.... I NEED HELP WITH MY eMACHINE NOTEBOOK ITS BEEN A MONTH ALREADY I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS AFTER STARTING... UPON LOADING (BLACK SCREEN) I HEAR 1 LONG BEEP AND ONLY STOPS WHEN I "ESC" REPEATEDLY....

    UNIT: eMACHINE 355 series
    O/S: WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE
    PROCESSOR: INTEL ATOM
    RAM: 1GB
    TYPE: 32-bit O/S

    Hi edcuna. When you press the escape key you said the beep stops. Can you get into the laptops BIOS at all?

    Possible memory stick or slot problem. Clean and reseat any memory modules. If more than one stick of memory try swapping sticks in the primary slot, one at a time.
