I appreciate the thought but when I install it as an hp1120c it has bidirectional communication so it must be enabled already. Thanks anyway.
I did the google search and did come across one person who said she installed the hp1220 driver and it worked and restored the special features...

That looked like a great idea but it didn't work. I still get the same error message that it couldn't modify the settings stored in the registry....
That's what I did. The driver works fine but I can't install the toolkit with its special features because of that 'unable to modify registry'...
