    It worked !!!!!! Thank you, Steve. Steve, I copied the files you suggested but the PC advised "hal.dll" in system32 was missing or corrupt....

    Need to remove 1 hard of 3 disks BUT ......

    My system has 1 X IDE hdu(drive C); and 2 SATA hdu's(Drives D and E). Windows XP Pro is installed on SATA0 which is Drive D. Drive C is not...
