    thanx to everyone 4 their suggestions. Uninstalling the updates wasn't working. so I went 4 system restore & it worked. thanx again!!!!!!!!!!!!

    actually when I was trying to connect my external drive it wasn't getting connected. I checked in Device Manager & it showed USB mass storage...
