    Why doesn't OE preview pictures any more?

    This is probably due to some minor corruption in the registry. Download this small registry file to your desktop and then double-click it to repair the image files keys needed for preview to function properly.
    Download Imagefix.reg

    ================end c/p=================

    I downloaded the ImageFix.reg file myself to check it out. Opening it in notepad, it contains the following:

    _______________________________________________
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.GIF]
    "Content Type "= "image/gif "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.JPG]
    "Content Type "= "image/jpeg "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bmp]
    "Content Type "= "image/bmp "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpeg]
    "Content Type "= "image/jpeg"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.png]
    "Content Type "= "image/png "

    Have you restarted the computer since the registry merge?

    Maybe some more detail about your overall graphic problems might help..... You mentioned in your other post,
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=99727#post99727
    (in the Windows98 forum) "last time i tried to repair but i failed and i lost reg files also from regeditor " but you didn't explain any further when I asked for more details....

    I found the following at http://www.oehelp.com/noimg.aspx

    ===========copy/paste===============

    Why can't I see any images in my messages?

    Some imagine programs corrupt these entries.

    You can check your registry settings for image file types:

    Go to Start | Run and type regedit and look at this key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gif

    On the right you should see

    (Default) "giffile "
    Content Type "image/gif "

    for jpg it should be

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg

    (Default) "jpegfile "
    Content Type "image/jpeg "

    same for \.jpeg

    for bmp it should be

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bmp

    (Default) "bmpfile "
    Content Type "image/bmp "

    Read the help file in regedit if you haven't used it before.

    =============end c/p==================

    You said that the Imagefix.reg didn't help. Did you try the steps I gave you in the other thread, to reassociate jpg and gif with Internet Explorer, and BMP with msPaint?

    You say that "i tried other computer same problem it's mean it's not problem in explorer it's problem in my email inbox" and " have one problem in my email inbox and still didn't solve the problem i don't know why it's happening with my account like yahoomail and hotmail whenever i m going to check mail inbox and i can' see graphic it shows like a blank squares "

    You need to give MORE INFORMATION on exactly what type of mail account has the problem!

    I originally thought that this was a problem with images in downloaded e-mail in an Outlook Express POP account but now I think you are talking about either an IMAP account or a web-based e-mail account, where the actual messages are on the mail server.

    Is this a webmail account using Internet Explorer?

    Is it a POP mail account using Outlook Express, in which the messages are downloaded?

    Or is it an IMAP account using Outlook Express?

    Here is what Mozilla Help says about IMAP accounts:
    ==============copy/paste===============
    About Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP)

    Advantages: Your messages and any changes to them stay on your server, saving local disk space. Also, you always have access to an updated mailbox, and you can get your mail from multiple locations. Performance on a modem is faster, since you initially download message headers only.

    Disadvantages: Not all ISPs support IMAP.
    ==============end c/p===============

    What is the name of the mail server? Look in your mail account settings in Outlook EXpress.

    I don't have a hotmail account.

    I only had one IMAP account, long time ago, using MyRealBox.com but I do use a number of web-based accounts.

    My Yahoo mail account is accessed from the web since only Yahoo Premium accounts now allow access through an e-mail program like Outlook Express using yahoo pop mail server.

    Also, on the missing images, you say that they don't show up in the e-mail, but that you can link to them. Are these graphics on a webpage? Can you post a link to one of these images?

    P.S. In case it helps, there is a setting in Yahoo webmail to block images. If this is a yahoo webmail account look for the setting in the Mail Options
    Personalization, General Preferences link, under Security:

    Block HTML graphics in email messages from being downloaded.

    If you click the "what's this" link for more information, it tells you:
