    XP wont boot

Put your installation CD in and boot from it. It worked for me.

    Hi chris,

I had the same problem as you, with the XP logo appearing and the little green bars moving along the screen then just a blank screen with no user accounts to log onto and just frozen.

Unfortunately, I had to totally reformat, which, as you probably know, is a professional pain in the 'Behind'.

Hope it doesnt happen to you and you get it sorted.

    :)

.....Man i hope that installation cd plan works...

Reformating will be a major set back... soo many files will be lost... i mean i always back up alot of files bu there still so much on there... in fact i was about to back up a bunch of files when he computer froze... whats really gonna hurt is the fact that i've been working on a little personal project... ook me days to get it near perfect and now...

O man thanks for the help guys... i just hope it works

Through i still wonder what caused the problem in the first place... if i don't find out i can bet that my family will blame me... they always do : (

    Chris ...

For future reference, consider partitioning the hard drive so that you can save all of your data and userfiles on a partition other than the one with the OS on it.

That way, when it becomes necessary to format and reinstall Windows, you won't lose your personal files.
