AutoSearch from toolbar in Explorer

Windows 98/IE
When I AutoSearch from the address/location bar in IE, all I get is the "This page cannot be displayed.." message. In order to search I have to go to a site and access a specific search engine.

I really liked being able to type in my search parameters in the location bar w/o having to go that extra step. Any suggestions?

when something changes with any search whether from the address-bar or using the icon search , something nasty out there has changed it or attempted to.
(I don't use either because of that)
IE options delete files and offline content,, clear history.
You do know we can * type whatever , a star there and it will do a google search ?
On My PC with IE6Sp1 there are two settings for searching from the address-bar (well two areas to check) tools IE options advanced
under searching from the addy bar.
And using the search icon on the toolbar ,,, hit customize,
near the bottom of the popup window hit auto-search settings
two options to choose from there.. with another yes or no to search from the address-bar.
(Yours may not have this second area)


Please get and use the Spybot and Adaware if you don't already
