winipcfg & kernel32.dll

    Hi there,

    I just installed sygate personal firewall,
    and it shows that winipcfg.exe & kernel32.dll is try to connect to 224.0.0.2 , backtrace/whois of spf shows that this is:
    IANA (NET-MCAST-NET)
    Internet Assigned Numbers Authority
    4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 330
    Marina del Rey, CA 90292-6695
    US

    is this normal and what is the purpose of this contact?

    Thank you Kevin, but the links didn't stop my worry, since not all PC are sending this signal, so I use SFC to replace the two file, so far they did't try to signal the "router" anymore. :cool:

    I was only half right about my last post, kernel32.dl signals again on the next day 's boot, so I have to block it with SPF. :p
