    Hi everyone,

When I use the system utility and choose start menu, there is a program checkbox that I check to remove. The utility tells me that to save changes I must restart my computer. I restart, then check the utility again. The program is back with the checkmark in the checkbox. I also have the spybot s&d program. When I check the startup menu in that utility the same program comes up. I check the delete registry and delete the program. It works until I restart the program and then it reappears. Is there any way to remove the entry completely from the system utility so that it does not show up on the start menu screen. I have tried to find the program in the "find" and regedit utilities, but I'm told there's no file found. The program or file is named ptsnoop.exe. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

ptsnoop is part of the modem port driver for your PCTel winmodem.
It's going to load no matter what you do, unless you take that modem out and buy something else.

I hate the guy that thought up that little tu*d almost as much as I deeply hate the guy that thought up the winmodem.

    Lol!

I agree to cautions and possible re-install.

But otherwise it depends on whether you want to run Windows or want Windows to run you.

If the former then go for messing with it.

If the latter, leave it alone.
