Completely unrelated to my other post. Is there a device that would allow me to connect my stereo and my computer? I want to be able to run the sound from my computer through my stereo. For gaming and for music. What do I need? Where is a good place to look?

    Joshua,

Depending on your sound card this can be extremely simple to complex.

If you have a sound card with a sincle output jack for the speakers then you can get an adapter at Radio Shack (or any electronics store should have them) that will go from that mini-plug to the standard composite jacks that stereos use.

You would then just have to get a long enough composite cable to go from the adapter to your stereo "in" or "aux" jacks. Voila - computer music through the stereo.

On the other hand if you have a sound card with seperate outputs for four, five or six channel sound then it gets a little more complex. Perhaps someone else on the boards could shed light on that setup.

    Cheers,

    ICE

I got a double-adapter for the single jack that iceolated is talking about. I can turn on the pc speakers for sound or stereo system for games/music or have dual stereo (and annoy the neighbours).
