how do i shut down safe mode

    hi i'm new ish to xp, today my pc shut down automaticaly and then restarted---but in safe mode. it restarted fine and everything works well appart from when i tried to install more software, with it being in safe mode i guess that's not allowed. would someone please reply to this posting with things i could try to turn off the safe mode..:D

    elaborate alittle more , what are you trying to do or what happend any error messages

    Im puting you're private message here so others can see and help..
    I pesonaly no nothing of Emachines, thats mackintosh isnt it. I thought they had there own propriatary operating systems, not windows..

    Im still confused do you gave windows ME or XP ?
    and what had you been doing prior to the problems..

    For everyone's info,

    Installs are allowed in safe mode, as long as the install doesn't write to the registry. That happens if after the install, a reboot is required to complete the install.


    About the being stuck in safe mode: Boot up holding down the F8 key. You should get a choice of starting in normal mode. Choose that and see what happens.

    There is also an option to start with the last known good point of Windows. If you have Systems Restore enabled, you will get this option.
