After about 8 hours of using my computer, I get corrupt text in all applications that display HTML. That means Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Outlook...

Here's a pic of how it starts off:

If I switch to another window and switch back, it gets worse:

As it stands right now, I have to restart my computer twice a day. These problems only started a month ago, and I've been using XP without any problem for a while.

Please help. I'm using Windows XP Pro on 1.3 Ghz Athlon.

Quite probably nothing to do with XP - may be an overheating problem or a dodgy video card or even modem.

Might be a good idea to open the case, check the seating of the cards, operation of cooling fans, blow out the dust and run the m/c with the case open and see if that helps.

Strange that it occurs only with html

Try repairing IE. Bercause IE is hooked well into the OS, all apps that use html also use these native DLL's of the OS that IE puts there. Some of the key DLL's may be corrupted.

I did a sfc /scannow and looked at the logs. The only thing it replaced were some video filters that I probably needed because they were in a codec pack.

I'll see if the problem returns today.

Yeah, I didn't see it as a software problem as IE runs OK for 8 hours, hence the suggestion - hardware.
