Windows XP Pro with Norton sysworks 2002.
The scheduled scan for NAV will not run as scheduled. Could not be executed. last time run never. I am logged on as Administrator and I open the scheduled tasks folder and try to run the task manually by right click followed by left click on run....nothing happens. However the following error messages when i click for properties on the task:

General page initalization failed. The specific error is: 0x80070534: no mapping between account names and security IDs was done. Click ok.

Then the properties open up. Anyone have this occur b4?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Try logging on as a user in the admin group. (not AS the Administrator) Create a user if needed and see if the scheduled task runs. Recreate that task under the new login.
I have a problem with NAV Pro 2003 Live update not automatically checking for updates because I haven't created a user to login.

If all else fails, shut the modem off, uninstall and reinstall. HTH

I have had a similar problem. I had to create a password fore each task I wanted to run. Since then, all has been working fine.
    Hope it helps.............

Suggestion from a FORMER long time supporter of Symantec.

Dump it and find something better.

For two things. AVG Anti-Virus and Kerio Firewall.

MUCH LESS system load and better ( or at least just as good ) preformance. Both program and System wise.

    PS
    Edit/add

I find it MUCH better to not depend on all this AUTO ****. Do it yourself and then you will know it gets done.

I can not say for sure ( but maybe someone can ) but I have a feeling that this Auto stuff may well depend on how long and/or when the machine is actuall on.

Go to the Symantec Web site. Do all the nonsense they make you do to get to where you can enter a search string for the knowledge base. Enter the string "no mapping between account names ".

There are a lot of things I don't like about Symantec, but their online knowledge base very often has a solution if you have an exact error message string.

The search above should yield a reference to a solution.

If you are really lucky, this link will work... THIS LINK
