When I used to right click on an Icon that I wanted to remove from my desktop.......the list of send to included My Documents and other viable storage options.
I don't know how it happened but now My Documents is NOT an option and the only options are Floppy A, CD Drive F, AIM Share, and about 6 other equally usless options that do not make sense.
Has anybody had this happen.......How do i get my original options back......or at least gert to add options on the Send To list???

    There is a folder called:

    C:\Windows\Send To

Can place all sorts of shortcuts there.

    blakston6286, you misunderstood.
Go into Windows Explorer, and go to the Folder C:\Windows\SendTo. This is where the Send To gets it's options for you to send to. The ones that you do not want can be deleted from here.
Right click on My Documents that is on the Desktop, and select Create Shortcut. Then Cut and Paste the newly created shortcut to C:\Windows\SendTo.

Here is how to make your own right click > send to's .
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/tips/april/ferguson1.asp
Add an Item to the Send To Menu .
Windows Explorer > Windows > Send To , Right click in the open space of the right hand pane .
In the pop up Menu select New & click on Shortcut . Now find whatever you want to include in
    Send to .

Tip #10: Adding to the "Send To" List

Many of you have discovered that when working with files in Explorer (or My Computer or
Network Neighborhood), you can right-click a file and chose from a list of destinations under
the "Send To" menu. For instance, right-clicking a file, you can choose to send it to a
floppy disk, simply by choosing that option from the menu.

You can add any shortcut to this list, simply by placing it in the following folder:

    %system root%\Profiles\username\SendTo

For me, that means C:\WINNT\Profiles\ludensd\SendTo. This is a handy place to put a shortcut
to notepad.exe, or a shortcut to your home directory, if you have a network. You can even
place shortcuts to printers in there. Simply right-click an object (such as a printer or
disk drive), or folder, and drag it to the SendTo directory, drop it, and chose "Create
Shortcut Here." No reboot necessary, even!

SendTo 1.6 is now available, providing the best set of features so far for moving files from
place to place, whether that is a folder or application on your computer, FTP server on the
internet, or even a zip file on your hard disk. You can now control SendTo with Windows 2000
    group policy too!

Trogladite Software SendTo is a tool which places itself in your Windows SendTo right-click menu.
When installed, you will be able to right click on any file, select 'Send to,' followed by 'Any
    Folder.'

Doing this will invoke Trogladite Software SendTo, which will allow you to choose a destination
directory for the files you selected in Windows Explorer.

You can then click on 'Move File(s)' to move the files to this destination directory, deleting
the originals, or 'Copy File(s)' which will create an identical copy of the selected file(s) at
    your selected location.

    Markp62, and jmatt,
Thank you for the explanations. I did not know I could customize the Send to. I will try all the options you gave me and post the results.
    Thanks again......

Markp62......Thank you for the clarification. I did go into Windows send to and dragged and dropped a folder called 'stuff sent from desktop'. Then created a shortcut of that folder and dragged and dropped it into My Documents. Now I have the option to send most things somewhere sensible.
Interestingly enough when I first did it I dragged and dropped the shortcut to the Windows Send To folder and the original to the My Documents folder and it did appear on my options, however when i tried to send something it didn't make it to the My documents fol.der, So I switched them and it worked, Thanks....a nice simple solution. Thank You for having the patience to clarify and explain the steps.
