I let someone use my computer whilst I was away and now when I log on IE will not move from a page that, allegedly, my friend was last viewing!! It is not a **** page; in fact it is a help page for my ISP and it's not my usual start-up page. When I type in a new url, it looks like it's going to go to the page but then just returns to the same page. I've set all the security setting to the lowest.

If I use the dial-up connection to a different ISP everything is OK, so it seems related to this ISP. I've tried deleting the dial-up connection and setting up a new one, to no avail. On my other computer that my friend didn't get his hands on, everything works OK.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

    rogerew Hi

Do the basics --tools internet options [delete files] and mark the box to delete offline content, clear history on the security tab please use the default button than apply, ensure the green and blue gloab is highlighted first. on the advanced tab use the default button again.
Get SpybotSD - Download Spybot - Search & Destroy by PepiMK Software: http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download
update it first then on you're next boot or restart scan delete all it finds, (i cant let it cleanuser tracks without problems)
Spybot Help - hosted by TomCoyote: http://www.tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/

get Adaware , install update and scan , preferably after a fresh start:
    Downloads - Support - Lavasoft: http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/
Post a link to the page you cannot change from ?
what version of IE and OS
dont let anyone tinker with you're computer settings :)
