I have recently used TDK cd-rxg audio cds for audio, video and software.
only today i copied a d/load of maths program for my daughter, only to find when i took it round her machine her cd-rom would'nt read it, i took it home and read it fine through mine, so i unzipped it, then copied it to cd... still no luck????
    whats going on :(

I have checked her cd-rom and it reads other cd's fine, including some previous TDK cd-rxg audio cds.

    any ideas :)

    Thanks

If her cdrom is over a couple years old, it might not be able to read burned cds. Might want to check to see if you can find updated firmware for it. Hit that problem a few times myself.

Sorry, I can't give you any specifics and no, I'm not trying speculate or voice opinion on something I have no direct knowledge of; however, I do remember reading of a problem with TDK media 4-5 months ago. Unfortunately, I didn't pay much attention and didn't read the whole bulletin. It had to do with specific drives but I can't say much more than that and don't remember much more than that.

Thats exactly the message I didn't want you to take away from my comments. TDK is a good company and you may be drawing the wrong conclusion - I was just trying to give you a potential lead to investigate. In retrospect, I shouldn't have said anything.

Believe me, if what I read (scanned) in any way implied that TDK was putting out an inferior product, I would have remembered.

    ;)

TDK had a bad batch get out? Wonder who got fired?
    Most unusual.
