I'm using Windows XP Prof. in my office. We have Windows 2000 Servers, a DNS Server, DHCP Server is also there. After I have entered the username and password, it takes a long time to bring me the desktop icons. It says "Applying your personal settings ". This is very time consuming, normally 5-10 minutes to get the start menu. This is happening on all Windows XP Prof. computers. Windows 2000 clients are logging in very fast. Can you tell me what is the problem? please help me

You could try disabling the network search for scheduled tasks.

    1. Run: regedt32.

    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace.

    3. Find a key named {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}.

    4. Right click on it, export it so you can return it if desired, and delete it.

    5. Restart
