lsass.exe

    norton keeps poping up with this message.
    "a remote system is attempting to access lsass.exe on your computer "

    and it has maked it as a low risk, what is it and should i let it? i did do a seach on it but did not find out what it does or why some thing should be trying to access it, anyone know what it is please. thanks :)

    Hi Big Dave,

    This may be Spyware - For starters I suggest you run SpyBot and AdAware

    Run Spybot FIRST, delete all it finds, run it again and leave all it finds.

    Then run Adaware and delete all it finds - configure to max settings to include all files and compressed files.

    If this doesn't fix it post back for more suggestions.

    "Windows NT4/2000/XP only. LSASS is the Local Security Authentication Server. It verifies the validity of user logons to your PC/Server (in technical jargon : it generates the process that is responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon service).

    Recommendation :
    An integral part of the operating system, leave alone. "

    when norton tells me

    "a remote system is attempting to access lsass.exe on your computer"

    should i let it?
