I bought a new Microsoft Internet Keyboard at Best Buy. I plugged it into my Windows ME system and the keys work just fine since I'm typing on it right now. But then when I put the CDROM in the CD drive and try to install the software for it, I get the error message:

    Error 1101.Error
    C:\Window\Temp\_is63B5\1033.MST
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

The file does NOT exist, but then why should it in the Temp folder unless the CDROM installation program creates it.

I would appreciate any suggestions. I searched MS Knowledge Base but nothing there. I can't believe that KEYBOARD software has problems like this !!

    thanks for any response.

Try emptying all the files you can from the temp folder before installing.

Is this an InstallShield installer or is there an .msi installer on the CD, and if so, do you have the Microsoft Installer package installed?

What software specifically? (You may find a newer, better version for download.)

If it's a standard Microsoft Internet Keyboard, try Microsoft's IntelliType Pro software:

Thanks, Abraxas, for your reply. You are correct - downloading the latest Intellitype software from Microsoft fixes the problem. The problem is described at Microsoft as noted below. I printed out this page some time ago, but when I tried it this morning, it was no longer there, so I don't know what Microsoft did with it. In any event, thanks for your reply. I didn't receive notification of it, so didn't know it was there until this morning. Thanks again.
