I am using Frontpage Express for my webpage. I have gotten some complaints about my background photos not filling out the full screen with larger monitor screens. Is there a command that will automatically adjust the background photo to fill the screen properly ???

I believe what is happening on large monitors is called tileing
The photo starts to repeat . I try to keep the file size reasonably so that it doesn't take forever to load.
Here is my website with the problem

    Hi Bob,

Nice pics - no problems at all on my 22" monitor at 1280 x 1024. They don't fill the screen, but they won't at that monitor res for that image size/resolution.

As I understand it (standard get out if I'm wrong :) ) the size the viewer sees your images is all down to the resolution of the viewing screen, be it 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, etc.
Clearly you will have sized the images to be of a suitable size when viewed on your screen at whatever resolution you use.

There is no way I know of to make the image fit the screen regardless of the screen resolution

I seem to remember that IE 5 or 5.5 had a zoom facility for images - think it might have been part of the Explorer Powertoys. IE 6, surprisingly does not have this facility - or if it does, I've not found it.

IE 6 has an option to resize overlarge images to fit the browser window - but no zoom.

Hope that answers your question - if only in part :)

The scren area used by a background image is dependant upon the dimensions of the image itself. You can however use your image in a Layer that will fit all screen sizes, no matter how the browser window is sized. Put this as the very first element on your page immediately following the <body> tag. (remove any existing references to bgimage in your code)

    <DIV ID= "idElement0" style= "position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; width:100%; height:100%; "><IMG SRC= "eeycgate.jpg" NAME= "idElement0Img" ID= "idElement0Img" WIDTH=100% HEIGHT=100% BORDER=0></DIV>

My mistake - I overlooked mention of 'background' images in Bob's original post - automatically assumed plain images.

Apologies for the confusion caused - if any!
