How do I get rid of the choice of OS when starting up? There is only one installed, but I get a choice that takes 5 seconds or so to startup and then I get that darned windows welcome window that I have to hit "enter" to make it go away.

I just want to start my computer quickly!!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!! :)

PS: i should add that I've had this happen before and HAVE fixed it but cannot remember how I did it... sorry!!

I forgot to add that is lists the recovery console and windows xp as the startup choices, not 2 OS.

Edit the boot.ini file. Make a backup copy, then edit.

Or another way: Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System select the Advanced tab and click the Settings button under the heading Startup and Recovery. Here you can change the time XP lists the OSses....
