Okay - Well, here is a situation I've never run into before: I want to delete a folder. More specifically MSN Gaming Zone in the "Program Files" directory.

Here's the deal: I tried deleting them in windows. It did it, but then the files came right back. I thought I was being smart, went to the command prompt and tried deleting them there.. Again it did it.. Until I left that drectory and returned to it, and magically the files were back.

Ugh! Hey Microsoft! Get yer head outta your a... well -- Anyhow, users should be able to delete any extraneous programs they want to.. Like MSN Gaming Zone.. Ugh

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ;-) Thanks in advance!

You can delete them, you just have to do it the right way.
Go into control panel, add/remove programs, windows components, Accessories and Utilities, Details, Games, Details, take the tick out of "Internet games ".

Silly boy :D trying to make it more difficult than it is?

LOL - How stupid.. Why not put it under a "GAMES" heading.. Oy. Well Thank you very much for the help, hehehehe

Oy.... Well here I go again asking the same question! lol

I removed the programs via the uninstall control panel, and it did indeed remove the shortcuts from the Start Menu. However, out of curiousity I went to the directory, and the files were still there!

I tried deleting them once more, but magically they came back.. ARG!

I still have that folder, but it's empty...can't delete the folder, but it doesn't take any space anyhow.

Hehehe -- Well in Microsofts' infinite wisdom, here's what I had to do:

Reboot, Hit F8 to bring up the booting options. Boot in Safe Mode with command prompt. Log in as administrator.. THEN go to the directory and do a del. (Which is the same as del *.*)

    Then I removed the directories.

SO - I just rebooted, and the files are alllll gone ;-) BUT lol - The directories are baaaack... Ugh.. What the hell... lol But at least there isn't 8 megs worth of files wasting space on my drive..
