hi one of my ****head housemates has been using my PC while I've been away and somehow he's installed a Quicklaunch Toolbar (from www.quicklaunch.com) I've tryed deselecting it and restarting IE but it reappears. Ive tryed searching my PC for 'quick launch' and deleted all the files that appear but all that does is leave a crappy unworking toolbar, and after you reboot all the buttons have reappeared. Please can anyone help as its really pissing me off (i've also used a virus checker and ad aware)
    Thanks

    Sorry about your problems Sean.

Was there no uninstall for the program your friend installed?

You can also download and install jv16 Power Tools.
It does a great job of deleting all the files associated with a program including entries in the registry.

Quick Launch Toolbar Toolbar (how 2 delete)

Wehay result. This always happens to me as soon as i decide to ask for help I figure out the problem. Nah theres no uninstall its one of threse little bastard programs that changes your IE settings so it loads toolbars and default pages so you end up clicking the links and making someone money. I'll post what to do to get rid of it now just incase anyone else has a similar problem.
Firstly goto C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder called Quick Launch. Then goto Run on the start menu and Type 'msconfig'. Go across to the startup tab and deselect Quick Launch. Then reboot ur PC and when ur back up and running goto C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\ and delete the Quicklaunch thingy. all you need to do then is deselect the toolbar and its gone.

Also download and install RegCleaner It will clean up lots of junk left over from uninstalls and programs like yours.
