I've created a powerpoint show and have inserted music into the first slide. This music plays for the entire length of the show on my computer.

I mailed it to my co-worker and she could not hear the music. I thought it might be the type of file I used (the song is an mp3 file that I burned onto my hard drive from a CD) so I made up a test show and inserted a midi file (a standard song that comes with Powerpoint).

She still could not hear the music. I sent the show to my home computer and could not hear the music.

How can I get it to play on anyone else's computer? Do they have to have a specific setup? I typically mail these presentations out and I just assumed that everyone would have access to all its features.

    Thanks!

You need to check the path of the music file on the CD. It may say something like "c:\mydocuments\mymusice\music.mp3 ". If that is the case, it means when you put it in the computer that you used to create the CD, it finds the file. Any other computer, the file is not there. I have encountered this before creating slideshows, and referencing pics on the "creating computer ". I believe you have to actually copy the music file to the cd, then reference the music file to the cd. Hope this is clear.

Thanks! I forgot that I was keeping the music on my personal drive instead of putting it into the shared drive. Now things are working!
