AVG users might know...

Appreciate some assistance.

Using AVG (free edition).

It is my understanding AVG is supposed to run a scan every 24 hours according to the settings on the AVG Control Center, Scheduler tab. The option to: 'Enable scheduled tests' is checked.
However, have not noticed any scanning activity. Also, the Test Results area is empty.

This PC is not on all the time. In this event, how does one get an automatic scan to run?

I use AVG home version also but have never set it to automaticaly run as a scheduled task
Do you leave the PC idle long enough ? 5-+or so minutes
about when its scheduled to run
instead of setting it with the control center open avg and set it and a specific time--scheduler icon near bottom of window r/side

Question , do you let all windows services run at startup?
Im not sure But think mmtask needs to run to--some people turn it off
what OS do you have?

Got it to work!!

There is a Scheduler tab in the AVG Control Center frame, and there is also a Scheduler button in the AVG Program/System Status frame.

Enabled the test run in the Control Center, and set the time for the test/scan with the Scheduler button of the Program/System Status.

Worked like a charm at the time set.
