Kerio released a new version of their firewall on the 9th May, fixing 2 security bugs.

Download the new version from Kerio

Thanks, Arie! Do I have to uninstall the other version first?

I installed "on top" of the old version, seemingly without problems...

Arie, when you install a firewall such a Kerio should I turn OFF the XP built in firewall?

I have both running and there doesn't seem to be any problems. I read somewhere that it doesn't matter how many firewalls or virus checkers you have running. The more the better! They don't seem to be interferring with each other. This is just my 2 cents worth today. Arie should be able to give us a more definate answer.

Nope, running more than one PF or AV simulatneously is 1) a waste of resources and 2) quite likely to cause conflicts.

I do remember hearing that running too many of these can cause conflicts, but figure since I'm NOT having any conflicts I should be good to go. I know for a fact that I read it on HERE that having extra 'backup' is a good thing. Maybe I'm wrong......

Having two AV's or PF's installed is not a bad thing - just so long as you don't run both in realtime.

    kerio

I've been following this thread hoping someone dumber than me would ask this question. Does Kerio and Zone Alarm do same thing? Is one better than the other? Should I dump ZA and install Kerio??? Thanks in advance.

    More-or-less.

IMO, Kerio is the better of the two. That said, plenty of people prefer ZA.

Kerio's better cause it's just as secure and configurable as ZA but isn't a resource hog and it doesn't mess up your connection.

    Kerio

I keep trying to access the Kerio site, but keep getting
"this page cannot be displayed" etc. Am I doing something wrong???
