    Dear all,

I went in to the Help and Support files in my XP Home Edition this morning and noted that where the icon's should be they have been replaced with a blank square containing a little red cross.

Could anybody be of assistance please and help me reset whatever needs to be done so that the icons return.

    Best wishes from England,

    Steve.

L13RAF--Is Help and Support the only place you have the problem?
Could be many solutions, but the simplest are
    1) Reboot, or
    2) Right click on one of the icons and click Show Picture. If that works for one but does not automatically change all the rest, do that for each icon.

    Hi Jim,

    Thanks for your reply.

It is now doing it with downloaded pictures but not all of them.

I have tried right clicking on the help and support icons but nothing opens up to even allow me to view picture. Re-boot achieves nothing either.

    Any more advice greatly received.

    Steve.

L13RAF--Forgive me, I did not see that your post is in the WinXP forum. I have no experience with WinXP.
For whatever it is worth here is a list of ideas on curing the RedX problem when accessing websites.

The problem is that RedX's when viewing websites are not caused by just one problem.
A long shot (again remembering that I do not use XP), and specific to the icons in that Help&Support file, rather than downloading images, is that your icon cache is corrupted. Do you have TweakUI (part of Power Tools) for WinXP? On the Repair tab, there may be a setting "Rebuild Icons ". Try it if you have it.
Sincerely hope someone else will join in.
    Good Luck!!
