Cannot change color of font in emails

I have xp professional and I am using outlook 6. At first I had no problems changing my font colors when sending emails, now it will show the chart, allow me to choose, but it just won't be in the different colors I choose. Also, when I am on the net with a MSN group for example, I used to be able to highlight and paste nice animals, flowers etc. that I had saved to "my pictures ". Now I cannot add anything.

P.S. my bars at the top and bottom of my screen are showing color with no problem, and so are all of the other things I see on my screen when on the net.
