It's supposed to be loaded on the computer. I'm supposed to start XP in the advanced mode and then look for the backup tab.
However, I do not know how to start XP in the advanced mode.
There must be an easy way to access this program.

Are you sure it's loaded. The Backup Utility is not included in the default XP installation.

    I found the following online:

The Backup utility is not included in the default installation of Windows XP Home Edition. The Backup icon is not present on the Start menu in Windows XP Home Edition, and Backup is not listed in the Add or Remove Programs tool in Windows XP Home Edition. The Backup utility is included on the Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM in the ValueAdd folder. To use Backup, you must install the utility manually.

After it's installed you are suppose to be able to access it by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Backup.

I do not have the backup utility installed because I do not have a tape drive or additional hard drive. I had a tape drive on my old machine, but it does not work with Win XP. I just back up my important data on CDs. I would like to have an external hard disk and "ghost" my system. My tape drive was sooooo slow. It took hours to do a backup of my old system and the system and files I have now use twice as much disk space.
