computer freezes at ptvcd.vxd loading

    I have a computer that freezes on bootup so I went through the step by step confirmation boot and when it gets to ptvcd.vxd it freezes. Any ideas is this file corrupt(able). Where can I find out what it goes with?

    System specs
    p3 800EB
    256MB RAM
