Windows XP won't shut down!

    I can't get XP to shut down! Continuous loop. Tries to shut down.... gets to black screen and then restarts. Any help?

    Hello Howdy,

    One way to trouble shoot this problem: bootup in safe mode, hit the F8 key on bootup, then try shutting down. If this works, then you can be reasonably certain that its not XP itself thats causing the problem. From here you can proceed in one of two ways, add apps in safe mode and try shutting down after each app is added or:

    bring up the system normaly and subtract apps, shutting down as each app is subtracted.
