    Hi,

I'm a new member! I'm a novice who want to make biz on used pc. My problem now is how to select used monitor? What inspection, test or checking should I do to get a good used monitor? Is there a utility (freeware is better) to test the monitor that can be run from floppy disk under MS DOS (not run from MS-DOS prompt under Windows)? Where can I download this utility from the net? Please kindly assist me to solve this problem. I know choosing a good used monitor is not easy compare with choosing the pc itself. That's why I ask you all the experts in this forum. Thank you for your kindness to share the knowledge.

    Cheers,

    Firda Yasmin:confused:

    Welcome to WindowsBBS:)

One of the best tests is to plug it in and let your eyes do the testing.

There is a built in test in directX. Click on Start->Run and type dxdiag.

    Hi, Steve.

Thank you for your help, Sir!

Btw, is dxdiag not a test for VGA card compatibility with the MS DirectX? So, this test also can test the monitor, too?

    Cheers,

In case Steve don't get back soon!

Yes that is the purpose of the program, but since it puts the video controller thu about all its possibilities you will be able to see all modes and features of the monitor. It would be the best you could do without a special program.
